THANK YOU... FROM FIVE BLANK PAGES
Dearest friends, family and all you good people who have supported us,
Let me begin by saying THANK YOU (!!!) to every single person who came out to the Mod Club on May 23rd to see us off into band retirement. It was truly an amazing night that we will never forget. I could feel something very special and positive in the air about the night - having been a band for 7 years, playing hundreds of shows, meeting great people, and playing with amazing musicians from all over the world, really culminated in the best way we could imagine. Also thanks to Over The Top Fest and Eric Warner for allowing us to celebrate the occasion as part of the festival, to Oh No Forest Fires and Boys Who Say know for their impassioned sets that night, and to every musician who we were lucky enough to have help us out that night - Chelen Hilmi, Rajiv Thavanathan, Robert Shortill, Peyton Leung, Reg McLean, David Kates and Shawn Jurek - thanks so much! If you were not able to make it to the show for some reason but have supported us in the past, thank you to you as well. You were still there with us.
This will be our last email communication as I'm sure you've received too many notes leading up to the show (sorry- we were excited to be with you one last time). Here is where Five Blank Pages lives on ...in you. Please enjoy the music we've created as we've thoroughly enjoyed creating and performing it for you. And pick up a copy of our new 4-song mini-album if you weren't able to get one at the show! Here's info on where to get it, and some links surrounding the final show:

THE FINAL FIVE BLANK PAGES SHOW + CD RELEASE OF "YOUNG GLOW"
Dear friends, family, and those who have followed our musical adventures,
After seven years and hundreds of performances, it has come time to play our final show as Five Blank Pages. Since 2003, we’ve worked very hard and done so much. Our lives are now moving on to place other priorities ahead of the band. It was only a matter of time until the scales would tip, thereby putting Five Blank Pages behind us.
It would only feel right to signal the end of the band with a celebration of what we’ve accomplished, who we’ve had the pleasure of working with, and the music we’ve created. We want you to join us for the last Five Blank Pages show. We’ve worked hard to make it as special as possible and for everyone to be able to attend. The details are:
Over The Top Fest 2009 presents:
Sat, May 23rd, 2009 at The Mod Club Theatre
722 College Street, Toronto, ON M6G 1C4
www.themodclub.com
Five Blank Pages (final show)

&
Boys Who Say No
myspace.com/boyswhosayno
The show is All Ages/Licensed.
$10 in advance / $12 at the door
Tickets available now at Rotate This and Soundscapes in Toronto.
Or buy tickets online now at: ticketweb.ca
Doors open at 6:30 pm. The show starts at 7:15pm.
Five Blank Pages play their final set at 9pm sharp. The show will be over at 10pm.
As you can see, the show is open to all ages, but will also be licensed for those who would like to drink. We did this so all of you under 19 can make it, as we have not been out in the suburbs for too long. It would mean lot to us if you came to us for this show!
The show will be part of Over The Top Fest (overthetopfest.com), which is run by our good friend, Eric Warner. This would mark the 4th time we’ve played in the festival since 2004. It’s a festival we’ve always supported- watching it grow from year to year has been amazing.
The band in its current and final form is myself, Pinar and Michael Reles on drums. Rajiv Thavanathan, who previously played bass with us for 2 years, will be helping us out on bass for the night (thanks, Jeeber!). Rob Shortill (from This Is Picture) who played bass with us for our most recent shows will also be helping out on a few new songs as well (Thanks, Rob!). We will have a few more familiar faces join us that night; my sister and our drummer for 5 years, Chelen Hilmi will be singing harmonies and also playing drums on a few songs (!). We will also have our friends Peyton Leung, Reg McLean, Marcius Extavour and Dave Kates join us on violin, cello, trumpet and trombone respectively. We also have a few other surprise guests helping us out. Opening for us will be Rajiv’s (fantastic) band, Oh No Forest Fires, and Toronto's Boys Who Say No. We’re excited and honoured that both bands can join us for this show.
On top of all of this bittersweet hoopla, we will be releasing a new 4-song EP entitled “Young Glow” for you that night. This mini-album will come in numbered limited edition packaging. Three of these songs were recorded in December 2008 as rough demos, for which we owe many thanks to our friend Rob Shortill for recording at his home. The recordings turned out much better than we had planned, so we thought you should hear them. The fourth track “Cardigan” was recorded during the Last Blush sessions by Jose Contreras. The song has not been released, until now. These are the last musical episodes to remember us by, so hopefully you’ll pick one of these CDs up. All of our previous releases and merchandise will be available on this night on a Pay What You Can basis. We’d rather you have the music and merch than have it collect dust in our closets!
We cannot thank you enough for all of your support over the last few years- it’s been a fun and interesting ride and we hope we can share this one last night with you.
Til May 23rd.
